As far as workouts/running this past week, I did that lousy 3 mile walk on Monday and then did absolutely nothing the rest of the week except for nap. I was trying to recoup and save up energy for the race.
I still didn't have as much energy as I hoped but I jammed in as much fun as I possibly could while visiting Hershey.
We stayed at the Hershey Hotel which was absolutely lovely.
We visited Chocolate World.
Inside Chocolate World is a retail store, baking demonstrations/classes, candy Making, chocolate tastings, the Chocolate tour, and lots of food! The main attraction is the ride.
I ran the 10K race.
We spent the day at the Spa.
We did lots of Shopping.
In all it was a fantastic weekend. I will do a separate post on the race and the Spa later this week. -M
We are linking up with Holly and Tricia for their weekly wrap!
I kind of think I need to make a pilgrimage to Chocolate World. Are the spa treatments Cocoa or chocolate based?
ReplyDeleteYes! Some of them are. The one I got was!
DeleteSounds like a great time! I have no idea how close (or far LOL) Hershey is to Hanover/Gettysburg....but I may have to try to work that in to a trip the next time we visit the daughter out there.
ReplyDeleteHershey is only a bit over an hour away from Hanover. There is much more to do there than what I described. It would definitely be worth the trip!
DeleteYears and years ago my dad and I drove up to pick up their new puppy in PA. We drove past Hershey and the only thing we had time to do was The Chocolate World. It was a great break from a long drive back and forth.
ReplyDeleteThat was a great place to stop for a break!
DeleteI remembering going to Chocolate World as a kid - I wonder how much it has changed! Can't wait to hear about the spa - and the 10K!
ReplyDeleteI was there as a kid too and a lot has changed!
DeleteI SO want to go there!
ReplyDeleteWould be a great reason to visit the East coast. They have a half marathon in the fall too!
DeleteI can't wait to hear more about this race! I mean what's not to love about chocolate. I saw your spa picture on IG that sounds fabulous for sure!
ReplyDeleteThe spa was fabulous!
DeleteCan't wait to read about the chocolate massage, that was it right? I'm intrigued.
ReplyDeleteI actually had a chocolate sugar scrub which was like a gritty massage!
DeleteGlad you had a fun trip! Looking forward to reading about the race and spa day.
ReplyDeleteIt was definitely a fun trip!
DeleteSounds like a fun weekend! I could so use a spa day right now.
ReplyDeleteI would love to go back there for the spa!
DeleteOoh do a blog post of a fashion show of everything you bought shopping!
ReplyDeleteI bought a few things from Ann Taylor, a pair of shoes I'm unsure of, and then stuff for my bathroom!
DeleteThere's never a bad time for shopping and the spa in my opinion. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had an amazing trip! Way to treat yourself and run the race!
