Our perfect morning at EPCOT.
We rope dropped EPCOT this morning because the new Test Track was up and running and we wanted to check it out. Test Track isn't a must do for us on every visit and to be honest, sometimes my sister gets in the single rider line while I wait in the air conditioning. But today, I wanted to ride to see all the changes.
I don't want to give anything away, but I didn't think it was that great. The new scenery is nice but I was expecting more of a story.
By the time we finished Test Track, Soarin was only a 5 minute wait, so of course we rushed to the Land Pavilion to ride that. Soarin is a definite favorite of mine! If you like it too, check out our post on the Hidden Mickeys in Soarin.
The line for Living with the Land was not long so we hopped on that ride too.
Afterwards, we stopped by Sunshine Seasons for a snack. I had no idea this macaron was here so I did not plan on getting it, but I'm glad I did. This was the best snack I've got at EPCOT. It was a pistachio macaron with peanut butter filling. It was a pretty large macaron too. I will definitely be checking out Sunshine Seasons from now on to see if these are available. We left the Land and headed to the Living Seas building. We rode the The Seas, with Nemo and Friends, which by the way has one of the most detailed, storytelling queues in EPCOT. If you don't know what I'm talking about, check out this post HERE.
As we crossed the park to make our way to World Showcase, we met Asha from the movie Wish.
Then we made our way to Mexico.
First stop is always the Gran Fiesta Tour boat ride. There is rarely a line here. Did you know this ride use to be called something else and the theme was a bit different? You can learn all about that HERE.
We did a little shopping in China. I always like to check out the unique flavors of the Lays potato chips here. My favorite are the Cucumber, the Chestnut, and the Cherry Blossom ones.
I was lucky enough to find a package of the Cucumber Lays so I purchased those as a snack for later.
In Germany, we had a bit of a history lesson at the Stein Haus. We learned about a unique souvenir with a big piece of history attached to it. You can learn more about that HERE.
In Italy we admired some beautiful masks and learned the history behind those as well.
We met Big Al from Country Bear Jamboree and wondered why he was over in this part of the woods!
We also met Mr. Smee. We talked about the Disney Cruise we would soon be boarding and how he would be there too!
It was now time for our lunch reservation, so we made our way to Canada.
This would be our first time dining at Le Cellier. You can read all about that HERE.
After lunch we took a ride on Spaceship Earth. That would be the last ride we rode before leaving EPCOT for the day!
For only being here for a few hours, I feel like we accomplished a lot. We rode a "new" ride, met some characters, tried some new treats, and ate at a "new to us" restaurant.
Our morning was a success. We would then take the monorail back to our room at Disney's Grand Floridian and rest for a few hours before heading to Magic Kingdom for the evening!
