Coffee Talk

Welcome to another edition of Coffee Talk, where we can get off topic and catch up with what's been going on with each other!

Let's recap the month of June!

If we were having coffee, I'd ask if your skies were hazy and if you could smell the fires burning in Canada earlier in the month?

I couldn't believe that we were in a Code Red alert even down here! Our school closed and everyone was sent home.  I didn't realize how bad my classroom smelled until I walked out of it and walked back in.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that my bird debacle from last month turned out okay ( I think). When the cardboard box was removed from under the rafters, there were no birds in it, so I assume they all flew away. I have not been brave enough to go up there and remove the nest.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that we finally got the boat out. We took our dad out for a sail on Father's day! This was puppy Lilly's first time on a boat!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I had a really nice afternoon out with my Nana. She agreed to go out for lunch with me. These times are so precious!

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I drove my Pappy once again in the Veteran's 4th of July Parade.

If we were having coffee I would tell you all about what we did at Disney this month. We caught the end of the Flower and Garden Festival, ate at some new restaurants, stayed at a new to us resort, and did a behind the scenes tour at Animal Kingdom. We will of course blog about all this in the coming weeks!

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I did a 10 mile walk/run on the rail trail. That is the longest distance I have done all year. My feet hurt when I was done.  I will also tell you that I finally ordered a new pair of Oofos sandals. I currently have the metallic taupe ones but there is no tread left on the bottom and they are dangerous to wear if it rains! As luck would have it, the multi colored metallic ones I wanted were on sale!

Now that it is officially summer, I have not been watching any series. My TV watching becomes very limited. I did download a Elin Hilderbrand audio book called Summerland, but part of me thinks I may have read it before!

Have you ever started a book that you think you may have read before? Have you ever tried Oofos?  What are you reading this summer?

Let's catch up! What was June like for you? -M

  1. We did have issues with wildfires here as well! It was really bad for a few days. Willow looks like a natural born sailor on the boat! And yes, I love my oofos!

  3. I have Oofos and i love them... for a little while. If I wear them too long they irritated my arches (I have really weird feet.)
For once, being in Florida in the summer is a good thing. No air quality issues here, other than the extreme heat and humidity of course.

    1. I use to say the Florida heat and humidity didn't bother me, but this summer it really has!

  4. So glad you get to hang with your Pappy and Nana -- yes, the time is precious. And yes, unfortunately, to the wildfire smoke. Obviously we're a bit closer to Canada.

I have multiple Oofos. Maybe that's why they're still fine after years. Congrats on 10 miles! I don't know if I'll see that this year.

    1. Oh yes, I worried about my family and friends in NY. I saw pictures, so I know it was so much worse up there.
I think the 10 miles was probably my limit this year!

  5. Looks like a nice time with your family. We have definitely had some of the awful air quality here as well. Hoping we are done with it though. I love my Oofos. I always have a few "clearance" pairs in reserve LOL.

  6. Oh, I love my Oofos, too! I'm probably due for a new pair, now that you mention it, LOL. The tread is looking pretty bare! At least the arch support still feels great.

  7. The air quality debacle felt like something out of a sci-fi movie. I'm so grateful to have fresh air again! I too am an Oofos fan! They're so so nice after a long day on your feet!

  8. It's so bizarre - I am north of you and we have no smoke. I did smell it when we were in Orlando this past weekend. It was awful. Stay safe!
