Contempo Cafe is located on the second floor of the Contemporary resort ( you get to take an escalator to it). If you are arriving to the Contemporary from the main entrance, you go up a level. If you are arriving via monorail, you go down a level.
I first fell in love with Contempo Cafe because of the quality and selection of food here. It seemed more elevated than the other quick service restaurants I've been to. In the past, there has been entrees such as pot roast and vegetables, hot roast beef sandwiches, and other meals that you might consider "comfort food" or "home cooked" meals. 
The menu has changed a bit over the years and I have not see the pot roast in the line up for some time now, but the replacement options are just as tasty.
Another reason I always want to check out the Contemp Cafe is for their dessert selection. Over the years we have gotten so many good desserts here ( this is the place for specialty cupcakes). Check out some of the items we've enjoyed from here in the past.

We've often picked up a dessert ( or two) from here and took it to the Outer Rim lounge just outside of Contempo Cafe, so we could enjoy them while looking out over Bay Lake. When we were finished, we'd always have to take a stroll through Bay Lake Gifts ( the main gift shop) which is also on that same level.
Not only is the food good here, but the atmosphere is fun. The restaurant is located in an open air concourse. This means you can see into it from the above level and from all around.
While you are dining, you can watch the monorail go by and since it is right next door to Chef Mickey's restaurant, you can often hear some of the excitement coming from there.
The Contempo Cafe only has one pick up window for your order, so the wait might be a little longer than other quick service restaurants depending on when you visit.
There is also a cooler with quick grab and go options like salads, cold sandwiches, fruit, bottled drinks, etc.
