Hello from Atlanta!

I thought I would write a little 5 minute update for Friday!  I'm loving the new Friday 5 format where we can just give a quick thought.  Are you? Remember, keep it quick ladies!

I'm going to give a quick recap of my day in Atlanta. After being up for work since 3 am I arrived in Atlanta around 3 pm. I was planning on going for a run outside but it was so hot out and I was so tired. I told myself I'll shut my eyes for a few minutes and then run later when it cools off. Well a few minutes turn into 4 hours. I didn't get up until after 8 pm. I guess I was tired. By this time it was already dark out so I opted for the gym.

If anyone has ever stayed at the Westin you know how nice their gyms are. They also offer workout attire and gear if you travel light and didn't bring your own. Another nice perk of the Westin!

After my run I was in bed by midnight and slept until after 9 am the following day. It felt so good to catch up on sleep I was lacking.

The next morning I just relaxed while having coffee and watching TV. It felt good to not feel rushed to get out the door. I finally got ready for a run.

I found a nice trail close to my hotel and ran 5 miles on. While running I passed a Ruby Tuesday's and knew what I was having for lunch!

After a quick shower and a short walk back to Ruby Tuesday's while listening to a favorite podcast I decided on the salad bar and a turkey burger. I was happy to see how much avocado they put on the sandwich.

After lunch was spent doing some online training for work then it was back to the airport.  I am looking forward to the weekend and spending time with my family on my days off.

Any fun plans this weekend?  -L

  1. I used to travel to Atlanta for work all the time. Usually I could make the trip there and back in one day. It's a great city!

  3. Looks like you found a great place to run in Atlanta. I love running on bike paths, especially when I am not at home - you don't have to deal with traffic. When my son lived in Berkeley, there was a great one there to run on. I still haven't forgiven him for moving away. I really enjoyed visiting the Bay Area when I visited him! Thanks for the tip about the Westin. Good to know!

  4. I love Westins! I also love avocado on my sandwich! I think if I had napped until 8 pm I would have rolled over and kept sleeping. I'm impressed you got up and went to the gym.

  9. I have not spent any time in Atlanta other than driving through it en route to Florida. Sounds like a great place, though.

    1. I know right? I was surprised to see that much since it was included. Usually it is just a sliver.

  12. That turkey burger actually looks amazing!

This weekend is our big women's 5k. I got Joan Benoit Samuelson's signature on my visor of famous runners signatures last night. :)

It looks to be hot, as usual, so I have no time goals. And other than that, a little relaxation (I hope, anyway).

  17. That's so cool that they even offer workout attire! And a little weird but....I'd still borrow it if I needed it! lol. Much better than the dump I'm staying in right now. My weekend plans include seeing 2 grandbabies that don't live by me anymore and NOT spending as much time as possible in this Motel 6. lol :)
