I actually started running before that a bit with a C25k plan, but I herniated a disc in my back. Once I was able to run again, the Galloway run/walk/run was a lifesaver. Keeps me fit and a happy runner, and that's all that matters to me. :)Shannonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01519830049619604609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4930457134828005115.post-64240501753696136572018-05-12T08:06:34.851-04:002018-05-12T08:06:34.851-04:00Thanks Kristy! Thanks Kristy!Fairytales and Fitnesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11771224209536216240noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4930457134828005115.post-61644570372395669262018-05-12T08:06:00.324-04:002018-05-12T08:06:00.324-04:00I fear that all the time too!I fear that all the time too!Fairytales and Fitnesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11771224209536216240noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4930457134828005115.post-17096910455290729112018-05-12T08:05:37.810-04:002018-05-12T08:05:37.810-04:00You are right, its not that i didnt think i COULD ...You are right, its not that i didnt think i COULD do it, it was more that I didnt FEEL like doing it.Fairytales and Fitnesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11771224209536216240noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4930457134828005115.post-23674825873690276552018-05-12T08:04:28.913-04:002018-05-12T08:04:28.913-04:00You are right. Like you said it's not a big deal to most runners - it IS a big deal to run the full marathon - that's amazing. While there's people out there proud to just WALK a full marathon. It's funny how there are standards & labels set on all aspects of this sport. It's each a personal goal/achievement - why I hate when people ask things like "What's your pace?" "What was your time?" or things that in the end, doesnt matter to anyone else.Rebecca Johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03965781380511208862noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4930457134828005115.post-7074460766327790822018-05-11T09:01:18.430-04:002018-05-11T09:01:18.430-04:00I love my run/walk intervals :) But we all have d...I love my run/walk intervals :) But we all have different goals for ourselves and it makes sense to be proud of accomplishing something that you worked hard for!Chaitalihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09118655603196065126noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4930457134828005115.post-7009397499924266652018-05-11T08:33:35.340-04:002018-05-11T08:33:35.340-04:00I agree with Megan and Lisa! At some point you made the decision to challenge yourself to do run without walks that day and you achieved it.

I totally get where you are coming from. Since I started running again after surgery I have decided not to use run/walk although some days my body just isn't feeling the heat/humidity/increased distances/paces combination and I have to take a walking break or two and I feel slightly guilty. It's totally bizarre because from 2012-2016 I always used run/walk and achieved all of my PRs with run/walk so definitely nothing to be ashamed of! kristinahttp://www.blogaboutrunning.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4930457134828005115.post-8570112903705965412018-05-11T08:24:42.811-04:002018-05-11T08:24:42.811-04:00The first hot days are no joke! And I'll admit, sometimes I think maybe it's time to move on -- the training group I'm involved in is up to running without intervals, so I do. But the pace is much slower than my normal pace.

OTOH, I've also gotten a lot faster using my intervals.
