The theme this week is 5 of our favorites! Since fall is approaching and I have been putting together my own costumes for upcoming Halloween events, I thought others would be starting to think about what they wanted to wear for their own Halloween event, whether it be a Halloween themed race, a Halloween party, or just out trick or treating ( with your kiddos of course)!
We've helped make things a little easier for your by sharing 5 of our FAVORITE costumes that we've seen on the web this past year! The best part is that most of these are easy, put together yourself costumes!
1. This is our friend Karen dressed up as Snow White for this year's Princess Half Marathon. Isn't she beautiful? This isn't the first time Karen has dressed up as a princess. For more princess costume inspiration, check out her blog at Just me and my Running Shoes.
2. Our friend Lauren, who blogs at Lauren's Glass Slipper, took a different spin on her princess costume. Isn't she lovely? Can you believe she ran 13.1 miles in that wig? Very creative!
Are Princesses not your thing? Maybe you are more of an animal person?
4. The first time I saw Julie from Run Walk Fast Pass Repeat in her Bavarian outfit I was blown away! Isn't this a great costume? She wore this for Disney's Wine n Dine race that is centered around the Countries in Disney's Epcot. Did she really run 13.1 miles with that Mickey pretzel and beer mug? Visit her blog and I bet she'll tell you!
5. Jennifer, from The Final Forty, is literally the queen of costumes. She has SO MANY great costumes that it was hard for me to pick one! I really wanted to showcase them all but how about you just visit her blog so you can see them for yourself. She has dressed as Jasmine, Pooh, Elsa, Minnie Mouse, Ariel, Dopey, Goofy, and many more. She most recently dressed as Lilo and as Stitch for the Dumbo Double Dare last month! I love how she gets her boyfriend and sister to dress up with her!
Whether you are looking for a race costume or something just to have fun in, we hope that you may have received a little inspiration from these folks. All it takes is a little imagination. Now go create some costumes!
*We gained permission from each of these bloggers to use their personal photographs.
Dressing up in costume, especially for Disney races, is so much fun! I can't wait until our next Disney race. I already have so many costume ideas in my head!
ReplyDeleteI always have so many ideas in my head too!
DeleteI always have so many ideas in my head too!
DeleteAww cute post! Thanks for sharing our pic too. :) This is probably my favorite running costume ever too! I feel like our ToT costumes will not be nearly as exciting but such is life! Hope you gals have a GREAT time at RnR Philly this weekend! :) -C
ReplyDeleteThose are all adorable pics-thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteIt's great how creative people get with their running costumes! I would never have thought of the country inspired ones for Wine and Dine.
ReplyDeleteHalf the fun in the corrals this year was seeing all the different costumes. I'm not creative and I was very impressed with a lot of them.
ReplyDeleteCute ideas! I am running my first Disney race in January and I will def be dressed up!
ReplyDeleteYou are going to have a blast! I'm glad you are going to dress up!
DeleteI love these costumes. I've actually never run a race in costume, I may need to change that soon!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics! I love all of them!
ReplyDeleteI love Jennifer's outfits! I need her to help me because I am so clueless and not creative.
ReplyDeleteGreat post!! I can't believe I made the top 5 favorites :0) These are all fantastic costumes. One of my favorite parts of runDisney is seeing all the creativity in each person's costume!
ReplyDeleteI love all of these! I have never run in costume--even in one race where everyone dressed in costume--because I think I've been so anxious about the race that I didn't want to worry about one more thing (the costume). I'm trying to get over that now, and I have a Jack-o-Lantern Jog on my schedule this year. This inspires me to do a costume--a pumpkin might be pretty easy for my first. Though I do love the Tigger and Piglet costumes!
ReplyDeleteI never tire of costumes... people are so creative!
ReplyDeleteSuch great costumes! Which reminds me... gotta get started on Halloween costumes! Eeek!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing everyone's costumes, even though I'm lucky if I am wearing color coordinated shorts and shirts haha. Everyone looks so cute! Look forward to seeing your ToT outfit :)
ReplyDeleteThese costumes are great! I always have great race costume ideas but then I wait until the last minute to actually put it together, so I run out of time!
ReplyDeleteLove these! I may have told you this before, but if anyone had asked me a year ago if I would ever dress up for a race, I would have said, never gonna happen. But truth be told, you guys make it look so much fun, I actually find myself thinking occasionally now, that I want to run a race sometime that I can make a cute costume for:) Maybe in a few years when I am done with other goals, I will have to visit a Disney race again!
ReplyDeleteI haven't ever run in costume, but those look like a lot of fun! I love seeing everyone's costumes, there are some seriously creative people out there!
ReplyDeleteThese are all great costumes! Love the creativity, thanks so much for sharing!! :)

Such cute ideas!! Since moving to New Orleans, I've already developed a "costume drawer" (it's pretty much an essential around here, between Mardi Gras, Halloween, and other random events). None are running-friendly, though lol.
ReplyDeleteGreat costumes but I would be too worried about chafing to run in a costume !
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shout out! I made the top 5 woot woot. I was part of a group of Epcot Countries...and I have to say, that pretzel and stein were a hit #WineDineHalfStein. LOVE these costumes!
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness i can't even think about halloween yet! i'm not ready!! :)
ReplyDeleteI need to run a million Disney races so I can do all the costumes I want to, haha! I love the Bavarian one and the Piglet one!
