Weekly Wrap...August 19

Another week of summer has gone by and I have one more week to enjoy before school officially starts!

To be honest not a whole lot went on this past week but I was able to come up with some highlights ( that I can remember anyway).

My Pappy and I on the Antique Cars.

Sunday my family took my Pappy to an amusement park to see a concert. We got there early enough to buy snacks and ride a few rides, but after that a major storm came through and the concert got cancelled.  Luckily  my dad and I were able to take him back on Thursday to  have dinner and see the concert so it all worked out.

Baylee at Vet

Baylee had her senior wellness check up on Wednesday. I HATE going to the vets because I can not handle bad news about my girl but the visit went well. I am so blessed!

I didn't think I've been getting the most out of my runs this summer, but I've been pretty consistent on getting miles in three days a week and well, that's good enough for me. My mileage has not been anything impressive as I've just been keeping a base of 3 miles or so.  I have a few 5K's coming up in the fall so I don't really have a reason to run more. I kind of wish I had a longer distance race on the calendar but I can't find any that are going to work with my  fall schedule (or logistics) right now.

                                                          And that's a wrap ! -M

Thank you to Holly and Wendy for letting us share out week!

  1. Baylee is such a pretty girl! And nice work getting in those runs this week. Sometimes I think it's harder to stick to those between-goal-race goals than when building for a big race!

  2. Bummer on the storm! Glad the concert was rescheduled and he was able to go. I think your consistency with running is great. I'm barely hanging in there with 1 or runs of 3-5 miles a week.

  3. You are blessed that Baylee is so healthy! Talk to Marcia. Her dog is 19?

  4. My week wasn't super exciting either. But a good vet visit for Baylee is pretty darn exciting!

  6. So happy to hear that Baylee had a great visit to the vet and that you also got to spend time with your Pappy. Those are definitely two great positives from the week.

  8. Hey, your mileage is great for now, especially if you don't have any reason to be doing more. You're being consistent, and it won't take long to up the mileage when you have reason to ;-)

  10. I'm so glad Baylee's vet appointment went well. Like Wendy said, Carlo the Wonder Dog is waay up there in years and I'm always so nervous when he sees the vet. Not sure what keeps him ticking...

  11. Glad Baylee is doing well! I have a hard time getting in longer runs if I don't have a reason, too.

  12. I'm glad the vet visit went well! I'm a horrible baby about the vet visits too. It doesn't help that my cats make such a fuss about it and therefore everyone's miserable.

  16. I think three 5Ks a week is excellent. Hope this last week of summer is the best one yet!

  17. I just took my two senior dogs to the vet. Aging pets apparently require extra testing. Oh my...the vet bill. They had those cars at Six Flags years ago. Such fun memories for me as a kid. I'm glad you could share a special memory with your Pappy. Thanks for linking!

  18. I feel you on the vet visits! Mine aren't even seniors and it seems we've been to the vet far too often as of late.

I love all of your adventures with Pappy! The only thing that could make that picture of the two of you any cuter would be if Bailey were in it too!

  20. Glad that Baylee is doing well! 5ks are nice because you don't have to "train" as much but just keep up with running a few days a week.
