Running Gear I'm using

If you have been following me on here for a while you know that I usually don’t take my phone with me during my run. I admit I have even been running in unfamiliar places with no phone. I know it’s probably not the smartest thing and for safety reasons I probably should have it. I just hate carrying it. Plus, with the case I have on it makes it fairly heavy and rather bulky. I haven’t found any pouches that fit my phone comfortabley that doesn’t bother me.

Since I am often "on call"  for work,  I always need my phone on me. On days that I do not get called for work, I have plenty of time to run but I still need my phone on me just in case. After a month of carrying my phone during my runs I knew I wanted to find something to put it in.

I was out doing some shopping the other day and I found this pouch. I was even debating on getting it since I have so many other ones that I don’t use. But really they all were for my old phone and I didn’t have one for my current phone. Also it was only $6.99. You can’t beat that price.

Inside the pouch there is another pocket that you can slide your phone into so it doesn’t bounce around during your run. In addition, there is a touch screen on the back of it.   And if you want to listen to music from your phone, there is a little opening where the headphone cord comes out.

I took it home and of course I needed to test it out right away. My phone fit perfectly in the pouch and it did not bounce around at all. The belt itself even fit me very well and did not slide around or ride up.

You may have seen my post the other day of the strange things I saw on my run. Now that I have a place for my phone during my runs I will be taking it with me a lot more now. I wonder what I will see out on my run next time?   -L

  1. Perfect companion to my post today! LOL!

I like to wear my phone/belt around my hips. I don't like stuff around my waist. But I'm glad you found something that works for you.

  2. What an awesome price for that running pouch! I've been using the same Spibelt for a few years but it's probably time that I replace it.

    1. I'm surprised I found something like this at Marshalls for such a great deal!

  3. I’m with you, I hate carrying my phone. I had gotten the new Apple Watch for my birthday and decided to pay the monthly cellular on it so I didn’t have to carry anything. It’s been great. I have a phone/map if needed and music. The only thing I’ve missed was having a camera every so often.

    1. Having your phone for the camera is nice. There has been many times I've wanted to take a pic of something and didn't have my phone.

  4. Can't beat that price! I always have my phone with me on runs for emergencies and photos of course.

  5. I have a couple of different belts but I'm not in love with any of them. I realize it's me and not them LOL because ALL of them ride up and/or bounce. I wish they'd stay in place on my hips, but it's not meant to be.

  6. I ALWAYS carry my phone. Usually in my Spibelt or a cheaper equivalent (that I found on Amazon)

If I forget it, I always wear Skirt Sports skirts, capris or tights and there are two pockets which fit my phone.

  7. I use a magnetic pouch that I can clip onto my waistband for my phone, as I don't like wearing a belt. I still only run with my phone on Saturdays, though, for my music. Probably should carry it on my weekday runs but my running buddy has hers, so that's all we need, right? ;)

  8. I take my phone so I can take pictures! Now that I'm running with Scooby I am opting for shorts that have a back pocket I can squeeze it into. Otherwise it fits in the shoulder strap pocket of my Orange Mud HydraQuiver.

  9. I always carry my phone (running selfies, you know?) and I usually just slip it into the pocket of my skirt/shorts. I used to worry that it would get too wet, but that hasn't been a problem. If I don't have a pocket I have an armband, which works but can be annoying too. This looks like a handy waist belt. It can be hard to find one that actually fits our big phones.

  10. I almost never carry my phone. Like you, I don't like the bulk and the weight. Glad you found something that works for you!

  11. I always carry my phone in either a SpiBelt or an HB Tune Hand carrier. I'm so used to it now. I like to have it for emergencies and photo opps ;)

  12. OK - that's genius having that slot on the outside!!!! I hate having to dig into my pouches to get a phone out & have gels & keys fall out while running! I'm totally getting one of these!

  13. That little pouch is perfect. I'm glad you will have your phone with you. I know it is nice to "unplug", BUT if something happens, it is always nice to have your phone in the case of an emergency. I use mine phone for my podcasts, so I always have it with me. When I used an mp3 player, I didn't take my phone if I was around my neighborhood, but I would take it if I was out on back roads or on trail.

  14. I always look for shorts/leggings that have a pocket that will hold my phone - but I kinda wish belts like this worked for me! I hate wearing anything at my natural waist (even pants...) and if I try to wear belts like this around my hips they always ride up.

  15. The pouch on my running belt is big enough for my phone. I have room for keys and my chews when I do long runs, and even a couple of tissues.

  16. That is a nifty little pouch! Glad you found one that will work for your phone!

  17. I always have my phone, but I also always have on Skirt Sports and the pocket fits my iphone 8 even in its bulky case. I've never found a belt that didn't slide up to my chest, so yay for finding something that works for you.

  18. Oh nice! I've been stuffing my phone in my bra on runs but this seems better haha

  19. When I got a used iphone, I deliberately chose a smaller one. So I always have my phone in a pocket (and usually a couple of water bottles too!).

I only use a belt for races. But I still have my phone in my pocket -- so I can take photos easily. :)

  20. oy, I can't believe you run without your phone! I'm glad you found a pouch you like. Safety first, girl.

  21. I don't run with my phone but I do most of my running on the treadmill in my basement. That pouch does look handy though
