What people think about me

When I run my favorite routes, I notice that I tend to see the same people day after day. It’s the lady walking her dog, the couple walking together, the middle aged man running, you get the idea.

Sometimes I wonder if those regulars notice me too.  I mean, I don’t care if they don’t notice me at all and honestly I would prefer to stay under the radar, but if they do notice me running, what do you think they think about me?

Just for fun, this is what I think they think of me at the park (or on the trail).

1       1.There’s that girl that bops her head when she runs (to the music that of course they can not hear).

         2.  There’s that girl that is breathing heavy (this may be in my own head).

3.There’s that girl who always runs with her hair in a messy bun.

        4. There’s that girl that always waves to my dog.

       5. There’s that girl that is eventually going to trip over her own feet because she is not paying attention. (it’s true, I do like to observe my surroundings and pay very little attention to the ground. I need to work on this).

What do you think the regulars on your route would say about you?  -M

  1. i think people who see me running in the morning probably think of me as the person who likes to run really early. Lately Ive been making lots of laps of my neighborhood so I don't have to go too far so they probably notice that too!

  2. This is funny! People think of me:

    1. Why didn't she comb her hair?
    2. She wore that same running outfit 3 days in a row.

  3. People around here have creeped me out by saying "Hi Marcia" when I pass. I'm not sure what they think but some of them seem to know me.

  4. HA ha...People probably wonder something similar to me (that is, the people who are actually up early enough to see me) ;-)

  5. This is fun! I wonder what people would say probably something like, there's that girl who is always taking running photos! :)

  6. When we moved from Brooklyn, I wondered what my running route regulars thought. I said hi to some of the same people every few days for 4 years straight. I just think of the some "There she goes..." There she goes again!

  7. I see the same people all the time and they fall into 2 categories--they ignore me or they're friendly. There's one weird guy who finally nodded at me last week!

  8. Fun topic! They probably think there's that woman who runs in the wild prints again. :) In fact, that's how I "met" one of my neighbors I've become friendly with -- she was at a race and asked me if I was the woman running in skirts in the neighborhood. :)

They also probably think there's the woman who walks the 2 cute puppies (doesn't matter that they're 9 & 12).

  9. "That's the girl who always waves at my dog" hahahah!

Mine would be "that's the weird girl who always says 'hi puppy' to my fully grown dog but never acknowledges I exist." :D

  10. Those are so negative. You know what they think? There is someone out running on a regular basis, that's inspiring. You know how I know? Cause that's what my regulars have said. And they also say they worry when they don't see me for awhile.

  11. I do talk to the dogs when I see them, and just smile to the owner. I normally look more at my surroundings, but I do have to watch where I'm stepping right now, with the geese in the neighborhood.

  13. There's that girl singing out loud again
... or even better & truer - there's that girl moving her arms & hands everywhere (I'm forever doing sign language with the songs in my ears - especially worship songs) ;)
