The Journey that will be 2017

Last year I wrote about my "intentions" for 2016 and to tell ya the truth, half way through the year I kind of forgot about them.  Then at the end of the year I looked back through the blog to see what I wrote about for New Years and came across that post and thought I should address the things I actually did do.

So logically I guess the next step would be to state what my "intentions" are for 2017 so I can look back at it again at the end of this year and see if I actually DID any of these things!

My first intention is to have a better relationship with my treadmill. In order to do this, I plan to start using Google Maps. My TM is iFIT compatible with Google maps so I might as well start using it. I'll be training for a "winter" race this year so I'll probably be doing some runs inside.

I currently track my running miles but in 2017 I want to start tracking my biking miles and other workouts as well.

As far as running/racing goes, I only have 2 races officially scheduled for 2017 (which I'll talk about later) but other than that I don't have a certain amount of races, or miles, or pace that I want to meet. I guess I'm at the point now where I'm not really making any running goals, I'm just going to enjoy the journey it provides.

As far as non-running intentions, I still have another room in my house to paint, my sister and I want to start reading more books (the same books so we can discuss them), and I'd like to ride in a bike races.

I guess to be honest, there is not much I "intend" to do in 2017. I guess I'll just see what happens and where the journey takes me!  -M

    1. My sister and I'd like to read more Fiction books but. I'm open to anything really except Sci fi..lol
I want to pain our room that has vaulted ceilings (and the height of it is what has been putting me off from doing it all these years (seeing as I already painted it twice since we lived there)!

  6. You and I are a lot alike with running right now...as I constantly tell myself when I run, which probably makes no sense to most people, "it's not a race" - it's just life. Enjoy it. :)

    1. Exactly! There are times to "race" the race and then there are times to just enjoy the journey!

  13. You reminded me to start a log on my computer for my cardio. I don't have a planner, but maybe Excel will help me, and I'll actually keep track this time around :)

  15. I'm always terrible with intentions and resolutions and all that. If I make any at all, it's generally too many and then by April, I've derailed. I'd much rather fly by the seat of my pants in most aspects. But that doesn't stop me from creating lists anyway. :-) Good luck with your 2017 intentions!

  16. That's cool that the treadmill syncs up with google maps! I'm trying to embrace the treadmill more this Winter too. I love that idea you have of you and your sister reading the same books :)

  17. I am intrigued by your treadmill's compatibility with Google Maps. Does that mean you put a route in and the treadmill somehow mimics the conditions of that route? Like, with elevation etc?

  18. I like your attitude. I don't set running goals either. I will run races but I just want to enjoy each and every one.

  19. As I tell everyone, I'm all about priorities rather than goals. And does that mean that your treadmill takes you for journeys?

  20. Funny, sounds like some of our running // workout goals are totally opposite. I'm finally starting to give myself some mileage & tracking goals for my running. But gotta do what works for you!
