Cold weather gear, check out these Mizunos

Right before the holidays I received an email from Abby at Back at Square Zero saying I won her giveaway.  Needless to say I was so excited!  I always enter giveaways and never win anything. Winning any giveaway is great, but this particular one I thought was awesome and just what I needed to kick start my winter running gear.

It was a full Mizuno outfit from head to toe. Never owning any Mizuno products, I did not know how the brand fit so she explained that it does run a bit small.  I had to respond with my shirt, pant, and shoe size, and the company was quick to send the items out to me right away.

When it arrived, I eagerly opened the box like a kid on Christmas to see all my goodies I received.

I received a top ( the Breath Thermo Base Layer Crew), running pants ( the Breath Thermo Tights), gloves, and shoes.  Everything fit perfectly, even the shoes which I was worried about.  So of course the first thing I did was go for a short run to try it all out.  The tights are not fleece lined or anything but they do seem to be much warmer than any other running tights I have had.

I even received gloves to match my outfit.

The shoes that I received were the new Wave Rider 20. I have never run in Mizuno shoes but know many people that run in them (including my sister) and love them.  I always have wanted to give them a try, but I think people get stuck in what they are comfortable in and do not want to change.

Luckily I have no foot issues and can try out many different brands without having problems. I do think these are a bit narrower than my Brooks Launch but I do like them and it will be nice to rotate my shoes since I never have done that before.  I am glad to have been able to try these out. Had I not received a free pair I probably would not have ever bought them and found out how much I actually do like this brand.

Thank you to Abby and Mizuno for my near gear!

Do you find yourself going for the same products because you do not want a change or are you open to trying out new products that you may like?

We'll be linking up with the gals from TOTR.

  5. Great win! I love the quality of Mizuno apparel but like you, I find the fit on the small side, although their gloves run big. I do love their shoes though!

    1. Even with being on the smaller size I thought it fit good. Bc I am so short and the pants were still a bit long.

  7. Cute gear! I have one pair of Mizuno shoes that I just don't wear - not sure why, as they are comfortable. Maybe I'll have to dig them out - like you said, it doesn't hurt to rotate shoes once in a while.

  8. I do try new products but I do always seem to go back to my usual things that I know works for me. But worth trying it. You never know until you try, right?

    1. I didn't think they were too big. They are not as warm as I'd hope for. But they do have a small pocket on the top of the glove that a key may fit in.

  16. I LOVE Mizuno. I don't wear the shoes anymore because my feet have changed but I ran in them for years. I'm obsessed with my BT gear, though. It's some of the best running gear I own.

  17. They look great! Mizuno is a great brand, they don't alter it much and that's what I like!
I do find I stick to what I like at least until they change a shoe model too much, once that happens I have the bitter sweet fun of looking for a new brand/shoe!

    1. I know right? Why is it when you find something that works for you, they end up changing it when the new model comes out?

  18. What a great prize.

I'm not very brand loyal, not even for my shoes! If they feel comfy and supportive I'll wear them.

  19. I am one with biomechanic issues, so I always go back to the products I know. However, after starting to look into running tights, I've come across CW-X ones which I might try. I know those are supposed to be designed to support the hips and knees.

  21. I am so glad you liked the gear and that it fit you well. Congrats on winning. It lasts a really long time too. I have some pieces from 4 years ago that I wear all the time that still look and feel new.
