Weekly Wrap...October 23

Welcome to the weekly wrap!

In exactly two weeks from now my sister and I will be running Disney's Wine and Dine half marathon.  I don't even know if I am prepared or not but I am sure eager to get out there and run.  As you know I have been dealing with the pain in my calf so I decided to rest for the past couple of weekends.  On Friday my PT said it looked like my hematoma was healing nicely and to go ahead and try a run and see if I feel any pain.  I may go out sometime today and try a little run or at least a run walk.  On a side note, this past week has been absolutely beautiful! We've had weather in the high 70's and 80's which is unusual for this time of year. Kind of bums me out that I wasn't able to get out and run.

Most of the week was spent dealing with health issues that pertain to Baylee. Do you remember I told you she had bronchitis? Well, it was getting worse and worse. Without getting into everything that ensued, lets just say she now has other health issues. It's always a challenge to get her to take meds but so far its working if I put it in ice cream and top it with pumpkin flavored Chex.  I think she's starting to catch on to this trick though because each time she is more and more hesitant to eat the ice cream. I'm gonna need to find another method soon.

Sadly my workouts this week only included the gym on Monday and Friday and a 6.8 mile bike ride on Friday.  Speaking of Friday, I drove to work and when I got there, there was nobody there. I thought it was weird that there was no traffic and the crossing guard wasn't out. Turns out School was cancelled due to flooding in that county.  The weather was beautiful in my county so after I got back to my house I made breakfast changed clothes and went to the gym. They were all surprised to see me there so early. After that, my mom and I took the bikes to the trail. It was a perfect fall ride and the leaves were actually changing colors now. We could have gone further but some dark clouds indicated that we were going to get rain.

In other news, we teamed up with Rachel from Running on Happy to host the Friday Five 2.0 link up.  Since the original Friday 5 that we participated disbanned, we wanted to continue to give bloggers a place to connect on Fridays. This past Friday was our first link up and I think it went well. We will host it again this coming Friday and the theme will be "free topic" again. I think I'm gonna go with a Halloween theme! Please come check it out. It will go live on Friday Morning.

Well that's about it.  Thanks to Hoho Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for hosting the Weekly wrap!

  1. Does Baylee like peanut butter? How about cheese? I used to hide pills for my dog in peanut butter and/or hide them in cheese. I hope you find a method that works for her!! And I hope she feels better soon!!

  3. That is crazy school was canceled and you didn't know, but at lest you had a very nice productive day! I hope Baylee feels better. I always had a hard time with meds too - I would get Dinty Moore beef Stew and hid in the meat cubes- she loved them lol so it went down :)
I bet you will be just fine in Disney! Hopefully your calf will be healed up and ready to run :)

  4. I hope Baylee is ok. I second the motion for hiding pills in cheese or a piece of hot dog. Very glad to hear your hematoma is healing nicely in time for your race. Sounds like there'll be plenty of us racing in 2 weeks! Yay for Friday 5!

  6. I'm so sorry Baylee is having health issues. She really must hate her meds if she won't eat it when it's in ice cream! Doesn't your school have an automated calling system or something when school is closed?

  9. I hope Baylee improves soon. You'll have to get really creative with her medication. My dogs loves nut butter, peanut butter, and cheese. Hopefully, your calf will be a thing of the past by race day and you can enjoy Wine and Dine. That is one I haven't run but would love to! Thanks for linking, Meranda!
