Is it Mental, Physical, or Something else?

When you have a good workout, do you say it was all mental?  All Physical?  Or was it something else?  I recently had an opportunity to try something that would aid me in my runs ( which I admit hadn't been going very well for various reasons).

Last month I started using Capsimax. Capsimax is a dietary supplement to help boost your metabolism and give you that extra burn during your workouts. It states, Capsimax puts your body’s energy reserves to work to help support your healthy lifestyle and fitness goals. It claims to give you the same health benefits as you would get eating a hot chili pepper due to the active compound called capsaicinoids, without the burning sensation. Taking one capsule with food before your workout allows your body to burn more fat and make you feel more energized throughout your workout.

This product could not have come at a better time. I admit the last month I did not get my runs in like I wanted to due to my crazy workout schedule, traveling to see family, and the hot and humid weather. With not keeping up with my runs like I am used to, a few pounds may have creeped on as well. So I was anxious to try this product out. I needed to start buckling down, since I am in marathon training mode now.

To be honest, when I first started taking it, I didn’t see a difference in my runs. (Guess I am that average American that wanted to see immediate results). It wasn’t until a few weeks after I have been taking it that my runs did feel a little easier. I even noticed that my minutes per mile were decreasing. Maybe only by a few seconds, but I’ll take it. I was even able to up my weights a bit when I was teaching my Body Pump class and that felt great! Since I have been taking this product for about a month now I decided to weigh myself and guess what? Those few pounds that crept up last month are gone! Maybe it was help from the product, or maybe I just paid a little more attention to what I started eating during the time I was taking this product. Either way, I have been pretty happy with the products results. Want to learn more about the product? You can look it up here Http://www.capsimax.com

Here are few more sizzling Benefits of the product:
1. “Promotes energy production by mobilizing fats”
2. “Delivers capsaicinoids, which enhance the benefits of thermogenesis by turning up the heat in the body”
3. “Supports a healthy metabolism by increasing energy expenditure”
4. “Provides a natural, non-stimulant option supporting energy, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle”

When you try other things to help boost your runs, you never know if it was the product, your mental, state, or physical state, or any other factors that are giving you the results that you want.  For that reason I am going to continue to use the Capsimax and see how my runs vary.

Have you used this product or any other product to help boost your runs? -L

  1. I'm guessing the capsacin in that thins your blood, therefore making workouts feel easier. I've not tried that one, but I've used similar things and have definitely felt a difference.

    1. I did't hear that it thins your blood, but maybe that is why.

  2. Maybe the capsacin boosts your endorphins? There has been research that shows eating hot peppers can do that! Glad it worked for you!

  3. I am pretty wary of supplements and claims that aren't vetted by the FDA.

  4. I've never tried it but I am kind of leery of taking supplements in general. Think there is any placebo effect to them?

    1. Yeah I think so. I normally do not take any supplements either.

  5. Interesting... that's cool that it made your work outs go better! I've never tried any supplements specifically for running, just general multi-vitamins.

    1. I don't think this was specifically for running, it is suppose to help any workouts such as biking or even lifting.

  6. I don't take anything to help me run - I think I'm too skeptical to believe that some pill might help me in that way. But hey, if you feel better for taking this, then it's all good, right? :)

  7. It's great that you're feeling better! When I get enough sleep, my runs feel easier. Now if only I could figure out how to ensure a good night's sleep!

  8. I get so nervous about things since I had that toxic reaction to lord knows what...
There's so many new supplements out there nowadays.

  9. Never heard of this product before but it sounds interesting! I've heard a lot about the placebo effect, where you perform better simply because you THINK you took something to aid you vs whether you actually did or didn't. It's fascinating to hear about the mind-body connection!!!

    1. I totally think that too. And I'm sure it had some type of affect on me.

  10. I agree with you that we will have all mental when having good workouts. I also get the same things with my own workouts; especially, apart from running, i often go to the gym. So good!

  13. It's funny, I began using a protein powder a few months ago and I swear it makes a difference in my running and I've dropped a few pounds too. But, is it all in my head? And if it is, does it matter? So now I'm afraid to stop.
