Running Costume Decisions

As with any Run Disney weekend, I am usually the one that is in charge of putting together our race day outfits. Since we are having a snow day today I thought today would be a good day to work on putting some more outfits together.

Our mom will be running all 3 of the princess weekend races with us at Disney next month, so not only do I have to think up and put outfits together for Lacey and I, but I also want our mom to coordinate with us. A lot of our costume pieces this year will be recycled pieces from years past. Here is just a peek of what I already put together this weekend.

I am working on this Belle costume but to be honest it may be too "poofy" for any one of us to run in. It needs a few more touches to it too.

You will for sure be seeing us in these "Minnie" inspired outfits on the course.  For which race, I'm not quite sure yet. We still have to coordinate some other outfits with each other.

When you run with a group, do you try to coordinate race outfits?   -M

  1. Your running costumes always look so great! I haven't run a Disney race with a group yet but if I talk family into doing the Wine and Dine 5k with me, I might try to come up with coordinated outfits.

  2. So cute! The ruffles on the arms of the Belle one are precious. I just imagined little birds helping you with these like that scene in Cinderella;). I so wish I was doing Princess again! It's my first year to miss in 5 years:(. Next year, though!

  5. I love the yellow one. I have actually never run in a costume, but I really need to change that, as it looks much more fun.

  6. Awesome costumes. i love running costumes and if you're running with other, coordinating can be lots of fun. I have a bunch of Disney group ideas banked up for future races, haha. It's just a matter of picking the one to do when the time comes.

  7. Too much pressure! The only race I've ever worn anything close to a costume was a Christmas 5k in December. I wore a sparkly skirt and a Christmas running top...Santa hat....LOL!

  9. I've never run a race where people made costumes -- well most people, anyway haha. There's always "that" person who does something crazy even at standard races. If I ever run a Disney race I'm definitely going to be Minnie Mouse though -- adorable!

  10. I love all your costumes. I have never run in a costume, mainly because I just feel awkward, like I can't pull it off, but you ladies always look so darn cute!

  16. Oh yeah that tutu will make your arms chafe if you are doing intervals. Don't ask me how I know. Lol

  17. The Belle costume is beautiful. Yellow is a favorite. As long as your arms don't hit the poof, I think it will be fine. I've worn a sparkle skirt a few times, but that's about it.

  24. love the costumes!! I usually do try to match the people I am running with but this year I am doing it a bit different as I let my little sisters pick my costumes! I will be coronation Anna from Frozen for the 5k, cinderella (but the new one from the new live action movie) for the 10k and ariel for the half

  25. I love that you take the time to make these great matching costumes, you have a talent I do not! I love the response you get when you put a tutu on- people cannot help but smile!

  26. Great costumes! I've done a couple of the 5ks with a friend and we coordinate outfits. I also did R2D2/C3PO with my husband, but aside from that, I normally just choose my outfit on my own. :)

  27. I love these costumes and all the others you've done so far! You are so creative!! I'll be running my first runDisney event, doing the 5K for the Princess weekend. And I'll be going as Belle too, but not in her yellow dress. I'll be in her blue "Providential" dress instead.

  28. I'm thinking of doing a 5k the morning of my bachelorette party and would absolutely want everyone to be coordinating in terms of their outfits. haha! Not sure everyone is go to agree to the 5k though, so might need to work on that first ;)

  29. I think the costumes are looking adorable so far! I LOVE coordinating costumes. I feel very, very lucky that I found a man who doesn't mind dressing up. As long as it's simple and easy to run in, he's pretty open to just about anything. LOL. Looking forward to seeing your finished products! :)
