Spring Forward (and a new link up)

So this week's Friday theme is "What we are looking forward to this Spring". To be honest, things are pretty up in the air for me right now since I don't know what my condition will be like but we'll play along today!

1. One of the best things we are looking forward to this month is our annual Murder Mystery weekend. It's a long weekend that my sister and I take together every year at a resort. Everyone stays in character all weekend and there is a TON of food. When I say a ton, I'm not kidding. It's always themed too. One year it was a wedding, one year it was a talent show ( think American Idol), Last year it was a political theme, and this year the theme is set in the 1920's so we have our flapper dresses ready!

2. Lacey has the Shamrock Marathon coming up this month as well. I know quite a few bloggers who will be running this. If you are one of them let us know! I remember how miserable it was last year ( good thing they gave out blankets at the finish) so I am crossing my fingers that the weather is better. I was thinking about being a spectator for this race, but the more I think about it, I might just stay in my house by the fireplace. Does that make me a bad sister? ( Last Year's Shamrock Recap)

3. I started Physical Therapy this week. Something I probably should have started 4 weeks ago. So  probably one of the most important things I need to look forward to this spring is getting rid of pain and building up strength.

4. Both of us have some races coming up in April too. I was just debating today whether or not I wanted to defer my registrations for them. I am hoping by then my pain will be gone but I know if I do either of them I won't be running full on ( it's not like I'm gonna win) so I might as well just do them and take my time.

5.This Spring I have been invited to Co-Host a Link -up called "Tasty Tuesday". We will be trying our first one this Tuesday March 11. If you have a recipe, food review, restaurant review, basically anything about food ( even if you want it to be a recap of what you ate, I know a lot of you like to do the WIAW, but you can do it on a Tuesday). As long as it has something to do with food, feel free to link it up! Just visit this blog on Tuesday morning and link up, that's all!

Don't forget to enter the Runner's World Sweepstakes to win a trip for two to Iceland ( and free race registration too)

So that's about it! I say lets just bypass Spring and move right to summer! I'm ready to sun and swim!

What are you looking forward to this Spring?

Who's gonna link up with us on Tuesday?

( Sorry about the lack of pictures in today's post)

  1. Hopefully physical therapy goes well and you'll be relieved of your pain soon! And I totally agree, let's skip ahead to the lazy days of summer so we can lounge outside at the pool and beach and get our tan on!

  3. Yay for physical therapy! I hope it goes well :) I am excited that we're supposed to have temperature in teh 50s this weekend. With what we've had earlier this week, it will feel like summer. Though it's a little strange to go from sub-freezing to 50s in the same week.

  13. I am looking forward to nice weather. Our weather this winter has been simply horrible and we moved to Wilmington, NC to avoid long winters in NH! It's not working! Hope the physical therapy helps and you are back running the roads soon M!

  16. OH cool- a murder mystery?! I'd love to do one of those!

I really hope the PT helps with your pain. It really helped my knee this winter. You should definitely incorporate leg massages. I am really seeing the benefits.

I'm looking forward to warmer temperatures! Brrr

  17. I was wondering if it is okay to get a leg massage while doing PT? I guess it can't hurt right?

  18. I hope the PT starts helping. I bookmarked this post for next Tuesday's link up! Tasty Tuesday sounds like a fun idea!

  19. A food linkup sounds fun! I have more recipes I keep meaning to post on my blog but need to take some pics and type them up in a more organized fashion than my notes. Maybe I'll shoot for an upcoming Tuesday!

  20. I hope the PT helps quickly! I'd better sign up for Iceland. What a fun win that would be!

  21. I'm looking forward to more light in the evenings and taking a beach volleyball class on Wed nights so I can have a mid-week activity that is also social. Spring in LA is oddly not the best weather of the year. It can be warm, but it's very windy, and by June the beaches are very overcast. I know, it's weird.

  22. Sending you lots of healing thoughts! I hope your pain goes away and you are out running races!!!!!!
