Disney Certifcates and Extras Run Disney Magnets : Disney Side

Hey Disney Princess Runners, did you remember to print off your official certificate for completing the race?  If not, don't forget to do so. HERE is the link.

You'll have your choice of what princess you want featured. We both chose Cinderella so of course our certificates are Blue. If you chose Belle, your certificate will be yellow, Aurora is pink, and other princess are colored accordingly.

The Glass Slipper Challenge certificates are all the same, but I love how they look.

                                                           Aren't they pretty?

I know the 5K wasn't officially timed, but it would be nice if Disney would offer a finisher's certificate for that as well. Although, since it isn't timed, I guess it would be hard to determine who actually finished and who didn't ( or didn't even start for that matter).

I am wondering if those who ran the 10K but not as part of the GSC were able to get certificated too. I hope so.

So if you are like me and you printed your certificate off as soon as you arrived home from Disney, you may want to go back to the site and print it again. You see, just last week I printed certificates off for my mom and sister and as I was looking at the numbers, something didn't match up. My certificate said the total number of finisher was 19294 and theirs both said 19317.   I know in the big scheme of things the numbers and placement doesn't really matter, but I am a numbers person and a bit of a Nancy Drew ( if my family is reading this they are rolling there eyes in agreement) so I wanted to figure out why more people ran the race that my sister and mom ran than the one I ran!  I went back and printed my certificate again several days later and sure enough Disney must have found 23 more people who finished the race!   Of course this changed my overall placement, gender, and division placement.    So, if that stuff is important to you, you might want to print out your certificate again. I contribute this change to Disney not completely getting everyone's finish time during the first week.  I've heard stories of ladies who crossed the finish line yet there was no record of them. Hopefully everything is cleared up now!

So in addition to the pretty certificates to commemorate our races,  we also got some Run Disney magnets.

We also have a Glass Slipper Challenge magnet as well but didn't get a picture of it.

Because we've had some car magnets go missing in the past ( they've either fallen off or got stolen), I've decided to copy these and make window clings of them instead.  ( I know they are copyrighted but I'm not selling them).
The window clings were quite easy to make. You have to buy the paper for inkjet window decals. I actually made two kinds. The one on the left is white ( it's almost like a sticker, but it is cling on). The one on the right is printed on the clear paper and that is your traditional window cling on. Those are the ones I've put on the back window of my car. I tried to take a picture of it but as you can imagine taking a picture of the glass didn't come out very well. If you plan on putting the cling on the inside of the window ( and you want it to face outward) you will need to reverse the imagine on your computer before you print it so the sticky side of the paper is on the front of the image, not behind it. Does that make sense?

Of course you can do this with any of your favorite Disney magnets or race magnets!  I would suggest making a copy of anything you would put on the outside of your car anyway, just in case. It's always nice to have a back up!

So, did you print your race certificate? Do you put magnets or decals on your car?

I'd be curious to find out how many runners actually started the half marathon. Does anyone know?

I'm linking this post up today with Deb from Focused on the Magic. The theme is "Disney Side".

  1. I did print my race certificates and chose Cinderella for my Princess one just like Meranda! However, I was disappointed that the GSC certificate only showed finish times and not overall and A/G placements. Not sure if this is true, but I heard there were 24,000 registered for the Princess Half.

    1. If everyone who registered showed up to run that day, that would mean that 4,683 of them DNF. Wow!

  2. Love those race certs! I always print mine out when I get home, too. Seems so random that they would have number discrepancies on them. Hopefully, like you said, it's all sorted out now!

I have a runDisney magnet from my PHM 2013 race. I never thought about making a copy before...I am really terrified someone will steal it since I'll never be able to get another one just like it.

    1. Yes, that's why we copied them because they are not easily replaceable. We'll be copying Lacey's Boston one as well!

  3. I am a runDisney "hopeful." Love that you made a window cling - great idea!

  4. I love you DisneySide. Love the ideas for the window stickers instead of putting them on the car.

  5. Those are really cute race certs! I have never printed mine before...I think that may change come April! I don't have any decals on my car either, but I will likely be making an exception for that come April as well! Boston is too important to me NOT to do these things!

    1. I agree! Boston is a Biggie! I hope Lacey soon frames her Boston certificate!

  6. Congrats on your RunDisney races, love your idea on creating a decal, we have had many magnets fall apart or come up missing. Perfect way to show your #DisneySide everyday!

  7. Good catch on the certificate numbering! I downloaded right when they first came up. I'm sure it has changed by now.

    1. Yes, my placing changed just a bit. It just baffled me how the total number of runners kept changing! Hopefully they've got everyone accountable now!

  8. I wondered about window clings and why races don't use those. Put them up on the inside of the car and they won't go missing.

    1. That was exactly our idea Lesley! The magnets are just too "accessible"!

  10. Love the idea of making your own window clings, I'm always afraid to lose them on the car. I did print out mine from the Tower of Terror 10 miler ;-)

  13. I've never printed my certificates from the runDisney races. I love the idea of them I just don't know where I would put them!

  15. Hey girl! Sorry to comment on here about something unrelated, but do you know the cut off time to complete Boston?

  16. What a great way to show your Disney Side. These are wonderful keepsakes and I especially love the magnets.

  17. I never print my race certificates. If I had a time to be proud of, I might, but I save the bib and the medal. That's enough. I write my time on the back of my bib for any needed reference.

    1. Writing the times on the back of the bibs is a good idea!

  18. Great idea for making the window clings :) I didn't know you could make window decals from a printer.

  19. Hi ladies. I printed out this blog entry after I recently ordered a new runDisney magnet. I, too, have had several do "missing" over the years, and I do not want to lose this one as well. I thought it was a great idea to turn it into a window decal. But I have looked at both Michael's and Staples for the inkjet paper for window decals that you mentioned, and no onw seems so know what I am talking about. Can you tell me where you got it? Thanks!

    1. Hi Jill. The paper is called Inkjet Window Decal paper. I got it from my aunt who picked it up years ago at an Ollie's Store.

  20. How do you copy the magnet onto the paper? Scan the magnet and then print it out? Want to do this with mine as the older ones are getting fragile....

  21. Yup, exactly! Scan the magnet and then print it out on magnet paper! Good luck!

    1. Thanks! Got to get these made up and then add a new one in November for Avengers. Love my Disney races!!
And thanks for the lovely comment on my blog. Costumes are the reasons I do these races, but I am woefully behind on posting about them. Still have to write up my Figment costume from Wine and Dine and my two Mulan outfits (Warrior Ping and Matchmaker Mulan) from Glass Slipper!
