Help These Runners make a Christmas Playlist!

Ok, you can't get in the Holiday spirit with out listening to Christmas music. Generally around here, the day after Thanksgiving is when our local radio stations play Christmas music ALL THE TIME. I normally love this, but for the past two years, I've notices that they started playing it even BEFORE Thanksgiving. I'm all about tradition and as much as I love Christmas tunes, I don't want to hear them before Thanksgiving. I can't believe I actually changed the station when I heard them.  ( This goes along with me not wrapping gifts even though they have been bought, and not putting my decorations out before Black Friday)

Since I've started the Runchat holiday Scavenger Hunt, I've been looking for Christmas items along my run. I thought it might be fun to have a little Christmas music on while I do it! So I am now downloading some Christmas songs to my I-pod. I'm hoping to find some up beat ones ( no Silent Night)!

Do you have Christmas Music on your playlist?
If so, what do you suggest?

What is your favorite Christmas Song?  Mine is Happy Christmas by John Lennon. It's just not Christmas until I hear that song. The Celine Dion version of it is pretty good too!  Lacey's is Merry Christmas and Happy holidays by Nsync ( which I agree is also a good Christmas song).

What's your favorite Christmas song?

Happy downloading  ~M

  2. I like the traditional Christmas songs, and at the moment, I do not have any on my Ipod. I do need to update my playlist for the Dopey Challenge.....that will be many hours of running so I need alot of upbeat songs!

    1. Downloading that much music sure does take up a good amount a time. That can be a daunting task, especially having enough new tunes for Dopey!

Also "Hey Santa!" by Wendy & Carnie Wilson

    1. I've never heard of "The Christmas Can-Can" I'll have to look that up.

( and I admit I use to be a fan of Wilson Phillips!)

  4. I was doing speed intervals on the treadmill this morning and I kept putting two songs from Glee's Christmas Albums on repeat- We Need A Little Christmas from the first CD and Christmas Wrapping from the second one. I don't know why, but they really pump me up!! I have lots of other favorite slower Christmas songs, but they're not too good to run to.

  5. I never thought about doing a Christmas playlist. I think maybe it would work nicely if you ran at night and got to look at pretty Christmas lights! I'm not a huge fan of Christmas music, but every time I hear Bandaid's Do They Know It's Christmas I get teary-eyed.

    1. That might be fun to do a "group run" at night around a neighborhood that has lots of lights! Thanks for the idea!

  6. I find Mannheim Steamroller to be quite fun. I've got their rendition of Deck the Halls, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Hallelujah, and Fum Fum Fum. Those are all quite fun to listen to when I'm running. Trans-Siberian Orchestra is a good one too.

  8. I love pretty much any version of "The Little Drummer Boy." But for holiday workouts, I always listen to "All I Want For Christmas is You" the Mariah Carey version. When I was an undergrad, my roomies and I would BLAST this on repeat during Christmas time. All of our neighbors loved us ;)
